SPRING IS HERE
Spring is an ideal time for
planting in almost
all areas of the country, as warming temperatures and regular rainfall
makes conditions ideal for plant establishment. Make
sure you
wait until the threat of frost is over before planting.
Spring
is a good time to make
sure your irrigation or sprinkler system is
in good working condition, and that your lawn tools and equipment are
ready for the upcoming busy season.
And remember, any season is the
right time to make sure your
shrubs and trees are properly mulched
in order to moderate temperatures, maintain soil moisture, deter weeds,
and enhance the attractiveness of
your yard. However, avoid mulching
directly around the
trunks of trees and ornamental plants, as this
can lead to rot.

Formal garden design

This large project included landscape design, sprinkler
and irrigation system installation, solar-powered accent lighting, relocation
of large bushes, design of several large formal English gardens, topiaries,
and native herbs.
Requiring over 2 tons of new topsoil, the English gardens
are truly spectacular. Our landscape architects researched and developed
a planting blueprint that replicated those found throughout Europe, but
utilizes native plants that can withstand the extreme heat of Georgia
summers. Flowering annuals as well as a host of perennials were used
to create symmetrical designs around several fountains and statuaries.
In other areas of the grounds, large shrubs were used to create visual
balance, as well as to block views of necessary utility and HVAC equipment.
